When thinking about any library classification system, it is essential to keep your users at the center. With any decision, make sure to include the input of users from the beginning of the process, observe user behaviors, and gather feedback along the way to inform necessary adjustments. Try to put yourself in the shoes of your users and do what is best for them.

Be mindful when making changes. Question the changes that you are considering to ensure that you are going forward for the right reasons and with the proper forethought and preparation. Once you have decided to make changes, be certain to include plans to measure results that can guide meaningful assessment and further reflection.

#3: There is no one-size-fits-all solution. |
Genrefication is not really a yes or no matter. It exists on a spectrum that nearly every library is on, unless strictly applying Dewey without any special sections (e.g., fiction, biographies, etc.).
